TIME MANAGEMENT

I completed both of the ancillary texts on Friday 11th March and my music video on Thursday 17th March. This shows that I have good time management as they needed to be completed by Thursday 24th March. This was the college's deadline. I am very happy that I completed the tasks a week before the deadline as it gives me a week to focus on completing and improving all planning and research. I also have time to get audience feedback on all of my music video drafts and ancillary texts.

I have also booked to spend two days during half term at college to make changes to my music video and ancillary texts, also to finish planning.

THIRD DRAFT & FEEDBACK

MUSIC VIDEO - SECOND DRAFT & FEEDBACK

My second draft of my music video shows my themes and ideas coming together. It is a big difference in comparison to my first draft. I have used rhythmic editing throughout the whole video as this looks more professional and neat. So far the video shows some variety of editing (fast motion, slow motion, reverse) and a variety of shot types (close ups, pan, medium shots, long shots, establishing shots). I am happy with the look of my video overall, especially the use of 'crop and feather' to make the shots look longer and more cinematic. However I know that I need to improve using my feedback shown below for making my third draft.

Above is feedback from Liam Pattison, aged 18. He gave me very constructive criticism which is very helpful and realistic in what I need to change to make my music video successful. He says that he liked the effect that I have used using the filter 'Textures' on all of my shots and he likes some of my editing techniques, such as cutting bits out, slow motion, fast motion and reverse. However he feels that there should be more of this to conventionally suit the genre of my video. To improve he thinks that I also need to take out some of the location shots, I agree as too many doesn't work well with the character shots. Also I have repeated some of the shots too many times therefore I need to replace them with more individual shots. Liam also said that if I recorded a character lip syncing to some of the lyrics and juxtapose them throughout the video. I feel that this is a good idea to refrain from repeating shots however I will need to schedule more time with an actress.
